Community Classes & Events

Beth Lenco will be hosting a 6 week Essentrics Class this summer at Blockhouse Yoga from July 12 until August 16th. Please contact Beth for registration and payment. Total cost $90, or $20 drop in.

This dynamic workout will activate all your muscles, free your joints, and increase mobility. Dynamic and easy to follow—this full body technique works through your muscle chains in order to liberate, empower and relieve them from tension in the process–making you feel more energetic.

Essentrics draws on the flowing movements of tai chi which create health and balance, the strengthening theories behind ballet which create long, lean, flexible muscles and the healing principles of physiotherapy which create a pain-free body. (And it’s Canadian!)

Beth has completed her Level 1 training in June. She is also a yoga instructor graduate (YTT200) and Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist from the Himalayan Institute (Yoga Alliance US). You don’t need anything special to attend, but please register so I know who is coming. [email protected],

A mesmerizing way to gently yet powerfully release, reset and reenergize!
Please join us and raise your vibration – body, mind and spirit – by soaking in the delightful sounds of healing!

Beth Lenco is a Nova Scotia born (1970) visual artist working in two dimensional media: watercolour, acrylic, oil, collage, and drawing mediums on paper, canvas and wood. Educated at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, and the Art College of Kewlona in the previous century, Beth continues a daily studio practice. There is a quality of directness to Beth’s art, bold strokes, bright colours, firm line, but also a soft subtlety of light and atmosphere. This meeting of strong and subtle creates a conversation between elements; a dialogue between our inner and outer worlds. Beth is also a practitioner of yoga, shamanism, and nature meditation which influence her art making and subject material. Responding to what makes her feel most alive, flowers, abstracts, and ocean landscapes always appear in her work.

Artist Statement

When I explore my subject matter, marks, colour, line, and materials I feel so much gratitude for the practice of art making. Art can move us from a place of ambivalence into a state of wonder and appreciation. My goal is to make art that uplifts the soul the spirit and to bring more beauty to the human world. May these paintings bring you as much joy as they do me.
