Yoga with Alex

Alexandra Nedergaard has been teaching Yoga in Toronto and Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, since 2000. Her classes weave playful reverence with yoga philosophy, postures and breath work, designed to meet you where you are. She welcomes practitioners of all levels, encouraging them to move authentically on the mat.
Alex’s exploration of the practice is an ongoing life long journey with a fresh and unique approach that includes many other styles of yoga. Her classes offer a varied blend of options for everyone to enjoy, no matter where they are in their life or yogic journey. She is a well-trained, seasoned instructor who brings a depth of experience and knowledge to her classes with gratitude and grace.

SCHEDULE
Once you purchase your pass, you may attend any of Alexandra’s classes (space permitting). However, please take a moment to inform Alexandra of which class you will most likely be attending throughout this session.

September 5th – October 29th
10:00 AM Balanced and Supported Gentle Flow Yoga with Alexandra (60 min)
A great class for students who are new to yoga or in need of support while moving through this gentle flow of asanas. Use a chair in whatever way helps you most–for sitting, or for balance assistance. Emphasis on de-stressing, breathing, and gentle movement to deepen flexibility, increase range of motion and healing mindfulness and relaxation. Open to all levels.
6:00 PM FlowYoga with Alexandra (75 min)
This class offers a strengthening sequence of asanas with some inversions moving gracefully from one pose to the next, encouraging you to go at your own pace, feel your body, center your awareness and relax fully into the moment. Emphasis on breath, dynamic movement to deepen flexibility, increase range of motion and healing mindfulness and relaxation.
5:00 PM Hatha Yoga with Alexandra (60 min)
Hatha yoga is a combination of asanas (postures) with pranayama (breath). Concentrating on alignment and moving through each asana at a slower pace, holding for several breaths and moving gently and deliberately into each pose. Improving your strength and flexibility, while at the same time focusing on relaxation and mindfulness. A nice balance of movement and tranquility to wind down from the day. Open to all levels.
9:30 AM Gentle Flow Yoga with Alexandra (75 min)
A wonderful way to ease into your weekend with gentle, meditative movements and healing and relaxing sequence of postures, encouraging you to feel your body, center your awareness, and relax fully into the moment. Open to all levels.
11:00 AM Yin Yoga with Alexandra (60 min)
Yin Yoga helps to increase circulation in the joints and improve flexibility. A meditative practice to encourage inner silence and interconnectedness between the posture, breath and your awareness. All poses practiced on the floor, working low back, hips, groin, upper thighs. Deeply relaxing, calms the mind and reduces stress. Open to all levels.

Private group yoga classes can be arranged for groups who prefer to practice with a group they are already familiar with. Alexandra has over 20 years experience in leading groups for corporate events, family festivities, schools, prenatal and Mom & Baby classes ranging in size from 6 to over a 100 people that she can adapt and design specifically for your group… the possibilities are endless!
Thai Massage – $ 85.00
Traditional Thai Massage stimulates the flow of energy through the body, and gently releases blockages that are essential for maintaining a healthy, ‘pain-free’ body, as it relates not only to the physical but also to the mental, emotional and spiritual aspects of one’s being.
Private Yoga Class – $70.00
A 60-minute yoga class just for you. Whether you are working with physical challenges in your body, or want a personalized yoga practice focused on your body and interests, I offer these 1-on-1 private yoga classes to meet your specific needs.
Time is dependent on studio and instructor availability.
Private Group Yoga Class
Private group yoga classes at Blockhouse Yoga and Wellness can be arranged for groups who prefer to set their own schedule or to practice with a group they are already familiar with. They can be part of an ideal wedding rehearsal activity, corporate getaway, family togetherness activity, birthday gift… the possibilities are endless!
